"Almost Heaven"
They flowed together, like patterns of old lace.
Weaving and entwining, a love...of delicate grace.
Each pattern colored, a mixture of brilliant hues.
Enhancing each partner, joined as two facets of one jewel.
Promising a unity, to last them...throughout time.
Eternally together, like an aging bottle of fine blended wine.
Developing a taste, that would only improve over the years.
Interwoven so tight, separation could never...appear.
Held tightly together, like ballroom dancers on a floor.
Graceful movements...that could only promise more.
A love bound so tight...it could surely survive for years.
A blending of lace patterns, never to separate or cause tears.
Perfect love, a glow, to light up...each blissful face.
Hearts so close...no other...could ever replace;
The close woven promises that would last for years.
Patterns of a love so perfect, no thought of doubt or fear.
This was the perfect time...and the perfect place.
Only once in life love such as this, to warm each face.
No thought of ever leaving one party of this love behind;
Intermeshed and entwined together until the end of time.
Never knowing how close Heaven...was to their door.
Not thinking of any way that they...could ask for more.
Until the day the angels...beckones one to their side;
Severing all of life's patterns that once...were neatly tied.
Now one sits...on a cloud waiting, just inside of Heaven's door;
The other lies wrapped...in tattered lace...at deaths door.
